Professional Learning Networks
Joining a network of leaders focused on instructional coaching offers many benefits. By connecting with like-minded educators, coaches gain access to a valuable support system, sharing experiences, challenges, and best practices. Collaborative learning opportunities emerge, encouraging professional growth and the exchange of structure and strategies. Through these connections, coaches can refine their skills, gain fresh insights, and ultimately become more effective in supporting teacher development and student success. My team has been a part of Diane Sweeney’s Student-Centered Coaching group of teachers, and I am also a part of her collaborative group on Facebook. We have also attended Kagan Training and are working toward becoming trainers of trainers. Additionally, we collaborate with other instructional coaches in Facebook groups to constantly share and generate new ideas with our team.
Instructional Coaches Connection A Community for Student-Centered Coaching |
Teachers must utilize technology to its fullest potential in today's classrooms. My main role on the team is in instructional technology. One of the highlights of working with instructional technology is attending TCEA. During the conference, I met a group of teachers who were using MagicSchool AI. I was eager to explore this fantastic tool and introduce it to my fellow teachers. I found a blog where I could learn more about this tool and advocate for its use by the teachers in my district. The blog offers insightful perspectives on the transformative role of AI in education.
One of my favorite instructional technology networking teams is FriedTech. The tools, tips, and tricks I have learned from this team have been incredibly valuable. Their professional development sessions are engaging, and I have gained a lot from their networking platforms. One valuable tool that inspired me during my time in the classroom was Wakelet. This tool can be used for more than just bookmarking. Students can create portfolios of their work, educators can collaborate on ideas, and networking allows you to share ideas with each other through pages, sites, and inspiration FriedTech MagicSchool AI Blog Wakelet Blog |
